Took a few tries, but I finally got everything done...just something I did to make it work better, break the reflector down the middle, and then (without trying to break it) tap the remaining stuck piece downward. I got lucky both times, and one clip from each reflector broke off into the light, and the whole thing came out on both sides. Minor scratches, and they were from the bits of reflector breaking.

Looks _____in...need to get my silverstars tomorrow. Thanks for the writeup!

I just did mine too! I have projectors in now, but the one is fogging pretty bad, so if I have to go back to the stockers at least they'll be cleared! Thanks for the write-up!!!

I did this mod a little while ago, makes such a difference.
Also, if you want to be really cheap, like me, you don't have to buy new bulbs. I had some chrome spray paint laying around, but silver should work. The chrome blends in with the reflector. Just take your stock amber bulbs, hold them by the base, preferrably with a towel or rag, so you don't paint the contacts or your hands, and spray a light mist of paint on the bulb. Just cover the amber, but make sure you only spray a light coating, single coat. Let dry. Reinstall.

Bam, colored signals, and if you did it right, they should still glow amber.

Other colors might work, but you'll have to try that on your own.

I've used it on a couple different cars with no issues.

I really dig the way the post-mod headlights look and want to do that to my box, but I'm not real confident in the potential scratching of the hammer method or the potential to leave stray pieces of the reflector still attached.

Can anyone give more detail on the "heat up a screwdriver and melt a hole" method or the "oven" method. The link to the latter method in the thread no longer works.

Thanks.

Is there any other way to remove the headlight unit other than loosening up the entire front bumper??

No there really isn't. One of the screws that holds the headlights into place is underneath/behind a section of the side panel/bumper that drops down when you take the bumper off. Honestly though, removing the front bumper is very very easy. If you decide to remove the front bumper to do this, it's also a good time to replace the wimpy stock horn

It looke totaly cool but if it an invitation to a ticket I may switch to the bulbs talked about above that are clear and flash amber. Thx
It's illegal. Everything that looks good or sounds good or is fun is illegal!! Haha!! You live in Huntington?? Where abouts? I live right by you! Me and a friend might have a detail party this week....if you want to come......
