Default Blown HID bulb or blown ballast?

Recently my passenger side headlight has started to fail. I have 6000k HIDs in them for about 8-10 months now. When they first started to fail, it would turn on but be very faint, then after it has "warmed up", which takes a few minutes, it has its normal light output, but also slightly brighter than my driver's side. But now, it just flickers once when I turn my headlights on, but just dies afterwards, no faint lighting or anything, just off. Because of the initial flicker, I'm unsure if the problem lies within the bulb or is it the ballast or even possibly both? I would also like to know how I would go about replacing whichever part if necessary--does it matter if they are different brands and so forth. Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any help.

i have not swapped the bulbs yet.. the manufacturer wont return any of my e-mails, and the company who sold them to me says i have to go through the manufacturer. do u mean swap driver side bulb with passenger and see if it continues, or swap for a new set of bulbs? im going to try and switch them tonight to see what happens... if it continues with that bulb, then its clearly the bulb.. if it continues to do it on that side with the different bulb, what could it be?

Swap the good bulb into the non working side to see if it's a bad bulb, if it is then the good bulb should light up. if it still doenst light up, it's probably the ballast. So you could put the bad bulb on the good side at the same to to test to see if the ballast is bad. Do you know what i mean?

look at the bulb if there is a little egg shaped ball on the inside that is black and not clear it means you need a new bulb

Yes, like Speedchrome said: Swap the left bulb for the right, and right for left. This way you can figure if it's the bulb or the ballast.

Make sure that they are getting good connections. Do you have a kit that needs to be grounded or needs to have that connection on the battery? Maybe its loose?
