Default New Scion Overhead Console Box!

Browsing through the xB configurator today (I have no idea why), I noticed Scion has added some new options. The one I was specifically interested in was the overhead console box (priced $279)!
If they'd had this at the end of July I would have gotten one I think, although it's maybe overpriced.

Anyone have this option?

But then you couldn't splurge for a moonroof.

ive seen a couple pics of that console installed. i personally dont like it much. the picture insert is kind of strange and out of place i.m.o. and the storage doesnt look..right...

and yes...the windowed roof is a dream of mine as well...so i would much rather invest the (close to) $300 elsewhere.

Thanks for the links. I fear I am in no way equipped to install something like this myself - in terms of either manual skill or bravery. ;)

It does look nice. Maybe if I can find an enthusiast to install it for me, I'll order it.

I don't think it's too hard.

I believe it just screws in where the lights are already. It replaces one of the cabin lights.

Who told you that?

You have to cut big holes in the headliner, check out the instructions on TRD Sparks.

Two big holes, it wasn't that difficult to install. Just took a little patience and s-l-o-w cutting after that it's 4 screws

even at $168 that seems over priced. You wouldnt pay that much for a small plastic shelf in your house...
Sure its nice and handy and i would want one, but thats just too much money. I cant believe it costs so much for something easily mass produced.

Anyone notice that the one pictured on the Scion web site is different from this? Is it from a Gen 1 or something?

Hmmm.. tempting, given the lost storage space of the xB2's missing 'oven'

A bit spendy for what ammounts to three sunglass holders, though.

I believe we determined someplace in another thread that the one shown there is probably the one for the xD mis-posted.
