Hey now-

Trying to talk my wife into lowering our xb. We both want a smoother ride, and I would like to lower it a little(i.e.- not drive over speedbumps sideways). How low can I go without worrying about train tracks/getting into our driveway?

I heard spy springs are good, but can't find them in the part section of this forum and their website seems to be down.

Also heard tein-h techs were good.

We are rolling on factory wheels and tires and will not be changing them out.

I got my wife's H-Tech's for $145/shipped from Jeff at StreetImage. H-techs are the only way to go IMO. My wife liked that they are noticeably softer but she didn't like that it dropped her box about 1.5 inches. The site says average is about 1.1F and 0.9R but I think they were measuring a manual xb. The auto tranny must be making it heavier because people can tell immediately it was dropped. It's not as agressive a drop as goldline or spy but definitely noticeable. As for handling, I noticed a little more roll when compared to the stock springs but I put in a Hotckis strut bar and that about brought it back up to par. As for the 1.5 inch, I could probably give her back some of that height when I install 17's for her and run 45 series tires. Anyway StreetImage is a sponsor of this site too. PM bobowah, I think he can get you a better deal than what I paid since it seems like prices are falling on these.

I got them instock and i can install them for you as well for 185 installed with springs

s-techs for a nice lowered look and stiffer ride but its lower than h-techs and you may get some bottoming out,,,

otherwise h-techs are great

Check out the Hotchkis springs. I have a set and they're stiffer than stock and lower the car just enough for my tastes.

Get the Tein H-Techs, and all your problems will be solved.

Inreased comfort level, good price, slightly lowered ride height (just enough so that it looks better, and the wife won't have a cow) and comes from a trusted suspension company (Tein!).

Don't even think about the SPY springs, they lower the rear more than the front, giving you the ___ dragging look. Whey they designed it like this I have no clue, as every other company is either a level drop, or with a little rake with the front being a touch lower than the rear.

yep i'm guessin h techs sound just about right for you. good luck with that you'll be happy better ride and slightly better looking. or at least better than stock

Anybody have a comparison between the H-techs and Eibach's pro kit? I have used Eibach's on my other car and liked the stance/perfomance. H-tech's sound a tad cheaper. But $50 isn't a big deal. Has anybody rode in a box with eibach's and one with H-techs' ? Noticable difference??

I like my Goldlines. Only take the speed bumps sideways for the effect, not cuz I have to. 8)

RS*Rs are the y way to go for handling and ride!! Get those turns with ease and still have a comfortable ride!! RS*R the drifting company from Japan!!
