This one has me scratching my head. Latly I've been missing 3rd gear when accelerating hard. When driving normally i don't miss it. How ever if I'm shifting quickly I'll miss 3rd sometimes. The weird thing is that its only 3rd. never 2nd, 4th, or 5th. Always 3rd. Heres the weird part. When I pull the gear out into neutral, double clutch to put it back in, It'll sometimes grind for a second or two before engaging, It's almost as if the clutch pedal is delayed. Now I'm not sure if I'm just being delusional or if there is something mechanically wrong. It doesn't sound like something that is a possible occurrence so I'm assuming its my shifting but I wanna double check since it only happens in 3rd gear. Possible syncros issue? Any ideas? I'm thinking its just my shifting and a major coincidence.
i've had the exact same thing happen...if i'm driving easy it never happens..i assumed it was just me though since i could keep it from happening by slowing down my cluthc speed...i really doubt its mechanical though..its not consistent enough for me to classify it as mechanical....
i guess its the motion..where we're pushing away while trying to push the clutch away as well...so its a further distance/strain.....fifth wouldnt matter since its not used as critically when accelerating fast.
it just lets me know when im havin a good or bad day..lol

odd... I have that problem when shifting into 2nd. I almost never have any issues getting into 3rd. I am pretty sure my problem is linked at least somewhat to the weak a$$ engine mounts - which I will soon replace - as it almost always happens when the engine moves a little *too* much as I let off the power to shift... the ensuing back/forth motion apparently affects both my shift timing and my pedalwork.
yea something like this happend to me to and after a while when ever i would go into 3rd it would stop short and then go in and if i was shifting fast it would grind... so i took it to the dealer ship and they replaced my whole trans... +1 for warentee!

i'm all up for a free tranny throug the war. but did it fix the problem?
I was having the same prob. at about 50K and the dealer replaced my tranny, not once, but twice, cause a few thousand miles later i was having the same prob. except this time it was 4th.

yea for a while then i started hearing this terrible clunking noise whenever i would start moving and the gears would engage... turns out they didnt put a major bolt in all the way and then after all that yes it is finally all fixed and haven't had a problem since
