So I recently put a polyurethane front motor mount in and a Greddy TI-C axle back exhaust. Now when I downshift, it seems like I am getting a quick rattle as the RPM's go down? But I am not certain that it is a rattle. I had my friend stand outside as I drove it by him a few times to see if heard anything. The sound itself that I am hearing sounds kind of like a rattle, but not as noticable as metal against metal, and it also seems to litterally sound like a growl. So I am not sure if this is just the way the exhaust sounds, or if infact it is some form of a rattle. Now I have gone under the car to check that everything is tight, no part of the mid pipe or the axle back are touching or close to any metal. Not even the heat shield! I have checked the tip itself to see if it could be hitting my bumper and the closest part of the tip is 1/2 - 3/4 of a inch awat from the bumper. I have even gone as far as looking at the midpipe connecting to the header and mid pipe to see if it was hitting anything. It only does this when I am down shifting. Not when driving and not at idle. Anyone else have this problem or set-up? And can cold temperatures create a little rasp at higher RPM's?

Yea i have the same problem... Love the exhaust though...anyway i think the rattle is caused by downshifting and your rpms going down

Finally, I have read three weeks worth of posts and I have now found someone with exactally the same issue. I am running short air intake / M2 headers / Megan midpipe / Tanabe touring exhaust, now most would say, yah no cats or resonators, that sh1t is going to be loud. Well, not true it hardly purred below 4 grand and stayed that way for 365 days. Two weeks ago I installed Hotchkis F/R sway bars and within a couple days this little buzzing sound would happen when Id shift. Exactally as you described, just faintly and not consistent enough to make my think that a bolt wasn't tight. HAHAHAHAHA Since then I have over tighten ALL of the bolts under the car as well as removed ALL of the heat shields. I even removed the midpipe and shook it to see if there was something in there................. I am really starting to think that it might be the clutch or flywheel.

the tip banging the bumper maybe? i have that one on my tsudo n1 and now im buying a new exhaust hanger, the oem is so soft and spongy
I went under my car yesterday and checked all bolts and nuts. I've also checked exaust and heatshields. Everthing seems to be ok. I come to conclusion it's got something to do with cradle. I'm going to put my stock sway bar and see if that will help.

I had the same issue and i fixed it! :P
I have the dc header, stock s and mid pipe and greddy sp2 exhaust.
I checked every thing under my car, Heat shild included. It turned out to be my anti-fouler for my cel fix was a lil loose. I took it off put some lock tight on it and the noise was gone. So my advice is check your anti-foulers if you have one.

Nice, I have recetly been screwin around with my cel extender and I have not heard the buzz in a while, I will keep an ear out. I am going to install a clutch and flywheel in the next couple of weeks, I am interested if it could be the clutch throw out bearing or the lower cradle.
