Default Power Shuts Off!!

Ok... I installed my system yesterday.
sounds grate, only one problem.
When i turn my volume up about more than half way.... the speakers, amp, and subs stop working but the deck continues doing what its doing. theres just no sound. and it doesnt come back on untill i shut off my car and turn it back on.
Whats the problem??
i was told from a couple of my friends that it was because its not pulling enough power and the amp is trying to hard to produce power n it over heats so it shuts off.
They also told me getting a compacitor will fix the problem.... true or fauls???
any body know why this would happen???
(sorry about my spelling)

what amp are you using? what gauge wire did you use? give more details to your setup. The more info u give, the better we can diagnose the problem.

It sounds to me like your ground isn't sufficient. Where exactly did you attach the ground wire? Did you sand down the paint to the bare metal? Did you use a stainless steel screw? You should consider relocating it to a thicker gauge of metal - found near the perimeter of the car.

My advice is to thank them for their help, but ignore their suggestions. Capacitors have been covered numerous times - just search. The short answer is they will NOT cure your problem. I'm not sure how to respond to the other things they've told you - as it doesn't make much sense...

Ok... Ill make it this alot easer... when i get home... i'll take a pic of where my ground where is at and tell me if its right. give me a little time... im at school right now. lol.

My friends told me to get a compacior cause im not gettin enough power to my amp and my amp is trying to work to hard to produce the power so it over heats and shuts off. but that doesnt explain why my speakers would go out cause there the stock speakers

i was also told today that it could be the battery... its not large enough.

which battery do you have? Mine's the stock battery and my 2 amps (a 6channel sending out 300w RMS total and a mono sending out 1000w @1ohm) never shuts down.
