hi there.. I'm the one having problem after installing an Injen cold-air filter.. i'm here @ my uncle's shop, they have a code reader here for Scion/Toyota.. there's a code that says "air sensor voltage high" .. does it means the air mass sensor is broken? can somebody knew what's going on? the check engine light is on, and the RPM of the car is limited to 2900.. thanks..

Is the air sensor mounted correctly? Is it dirty? Have you tried unplugging either the fuse or the negative terminal? If you were closer to Tracy, I could check it out for you.

moooved!

Your MAF might be messed up. Did you make sure it was securely fastened on the intake? Take it off and make sure it's clean...

*bang bang* ;)

Also, make sure the MAF is securely plugged in... Unplug it and plug it back in if you have to...

A MAF is the air sensor. Mass Air Flow sensor...but yeah, just be careful with putting it on the CAI...

i've been reading tons of problems with the injen intake. seems like no one is having problems with the aem or the typoon intakes.

any other input?

I think the people who were having problems with the Injen intake were the ones who had the xB only CAI...

I've got the Injen XB cai and it's been on for over 15K miles with no problems. Just drove up to Tahoe last weekend and got over 30 mpg for over 900 miles.

I'd try cleaning the MAF sensor before buying a new one. I used QD Electronic Cleaner made by CRC. Make sure that you get the kind that is for "Sensitive Electronic Equipment". You can get a can at any automotive store or Home Depot. Also, don't get the kind that says for Automotive, it should say "QD" on it. Spray it all over the sensors of the MAF and let it self dry for a few minutes. It works very well. Also, like a few already mentioned, disconnect the battery for a few minutes after cleaning and reinstalling. BTW, what is the dealership asking for a new MAF?

I have a question about the engine light coming on due to MAF getting dirty. The mechanic at Scion said that due to higher airflow rates it gets dirty and this causes the light to come on. He also said that it was going to keep doing this and would eventually get worse. I have a K&N Typhoon any suggestions to solve this problem?

Could this be caused by oil depositing on your sensor from the knn filter, if over oiling the filter will results in it being deposited onto the maf sensor, try getting a IPA alcohol spray cleaner and spray it clean.

I have the Injen on my 03 corolla and it has been great. It makes a nice sound when i give it gas, and nice increase of 11 hp. Call Injen and tell them what happened, they might pay for your MAF

In my Focus mass people had this problem.
The overoiled filter was letting the oil get onto the MAF wire.
Causing a CEL.
You can also safely use Non Chlorinated brake cleaner to clean it.
It will be plainly marked as such.
