sooo, our xb recently had a "problem" (back window EXPLODED on us) and the end result was the dealer (who has a local company do there detailing) wash and waxing the box.

i can assume a buffer was used to get the wax off , due to the fact that NOW there are swirl scratches ALL over my paint....when u look at the sun reflection, there are scrathes ALL around it...now i wash the car 1 time a week, , i use mr clean, so i NEVER hand dry it, and i use a soft auto sponge to wash it with. I have never ever noticed these scratches on the paint, but they are very prevailent. The look kinda like this:

(((*)))

the asterix being the suns relection in the paint, and the parenthesis being the scratches around the relection....now i was wondering if anyone else had this on their paint too , and i just never noticed it? Or is this something i need to adress SOON with the dealer?TIA all

I had that on my BOP, I did do the drive thru car wash thing though so that probably caused it :) never buffed though..,

If the swirl marks are symmetrical then it's probably from some idiot at the detailing shop using a rotary buffer. I would bring it to your dealership's attention and tell them you want to take it to somewhere you trust to have the swirl marks removed. I had the same situation when I got my tC and opted to take care of it myself as I didn't want them buffing the hell out of the paint and possibly removing all the clear coat.

3M has a product remove swirl marks and tell them to use 3M hand glaze next time

Yeah, Your next coat of wax should take it out...I use 1/2 3M rubbing compound, and 1/2 meguires wax as a scatch remover (pure rubbing compund is too harsh)- then i finish up with a final coat of meguires, I use Micro fiber towels,- The final results are flawless!!

our kick "a" sponsor , Ernie Palmer Scion on Cassat (*plug..lol) said they were going to HAND wax it free of charge...the service manager came out and looked at it, and agreed there were marks on the vehicle, this should hopefully fix the prob..

thanks to all who replied 8)
