Default What are the rear vents for?

Im talking about the ones between the rear bumper cover and the body of the car. You can see them if you remove the access panel to the tail light bulbs, their just under the tail lights if you put your hand down in there you can feel the rubber flaps.

I thought that they would have something to do with cabin pressure in the car or something. Maybe for air flow or to keep a breeze blowing in the car ha ha lol .

What would happen if i sealed them off. I dont see how it could be that hard on anything, and it might give me more bass. I think i might try it just to see.
