Default 2006 Engine in 2007 tC

I have an 07 tC and am looking for an extra motor and found a good deal on a motor out of a 2006. Does anyone know for sure if the motor will drop in without a problem and wire up? If anyone has any info let me know. Thanks!

It is against federal regulation to put a motor of a given model year into a car of a later model year. You could put an 07 motor in an 06 car, but not vice versa.

Default changing engines

I looked all over for a Federal Regulation on swapping engines. I could not find anything. I only think you need to keep all paperwork on the engine you are putting in the car. This will be needed for resale. It will change the title once the car is resold.
Though I could be wrong, but I don't see why you couldn't. It just has to be done legally.

The dealer changed an engine in a friends Dodge and they gave her paper work stating the milage on the engine and numbers on the engine seeing that it would no longer match the car.

Yea ECU difference, Different MAF, Different Compression Ratio. Plus some other stuff I'm sure I'm missing.

I am aware of the differences and am not worried about federal law.
I have MAF Sensor Adapters for both years. Exhaust is not a concern. Intake Manifold bolts up the same.
ECU/Wiring is what I am interested in
