Do you have to mount the unit to the stock metal mounting brackets? I have a mounting kit for a single din aftermarket headunit and i don't have the stock brackets anymore. Is it time for me to start looking for someone's extra stock ones?

i used the metal brackets (the stock ones) and it seems like you need tho's for it to work..but im not exactly sure
