Default Another Rattle Thread.

Before you go flippin isht. its not another thread complaining...
I was workin on deadining my car some more today and found a rattle i dont think ive heard any mention on here before.
Basically theres a little black plastic piece behind both of the rear wheels. its got little clothlike strips in it. i have no idea what its for but my only guess can be for ventilation.
so today while deadining my car i had the stereo on, right now i only have the stock 08-09 sub, which was enough to make that piece rattle like hell...even when i moved the sub as far as i could into the center of the trunk.
im not one of those people that complains about all the rattles in a tc, frankly ive never even noticed them, but this one irratated me because everytime a bass note hit it would rattle.
so basically im gonna go get some great stuff foam insulator this weekend a plug that thing up as well as all around it.

heres what im talking about.

obviously these pics are from the inside of the car, you can access it by removing the panel all the way in the rear, (which also requires you to remove the middle panel as well)

or

you can just remove the rear bumper which seams easier to me because you can actually get inside of it alot easier

yeah that thing like keeps the pressure in side and outside the car the same. I had the same thing rattling and block it off the same. All gone. Next it taking my whole head liner down and super gluing every little piece of anything that moves!!!

I had the same problem with the bass rattling these little rubber flaps. I just took the bumper off and took them out, then put some duct tape over the holes. Only thing is, they let the pressure escape when shutting your doors so if they are seeled off then it makes it a little harder to shut the doors. The air doesnt come out the vents as hard either unless you crack the window a liitle.

It did take away the rattle though.

I took my seal out and used the edead to make a baffled piece out of it and no more rattle.......

Make sure to put at least 2 layers over the wheel wells........made a huge differance with the second layer on mine.

you are gonna love it........I did the paint on with 2 layers....looked like a big smurf.........then 2 layers over that ........

I got my system Db last week and got a 119db inside the car.......amp and subs untuned.....but with windows up and doors closed there is almost no sound outside of vehicle.

Was well worth the work to install.
