I have read (on this site) that the AVN6620, and perhaps other Eclipse head units are the only aftermarket units that will work with the factory steering wheel controls as a simple-plug-n-play.

You can get your steering wheel controls to work with any head unit, but you'll need an interface adapter like the one PAC makes. It's relatively inexpensive, but more wiring is required.

the avn 6620 is plug and play with factory harness. steering wheel controls will work off the headunit. ipod controls will not work off factory plugs. you will need to get the eclipse ipod adaptor. let me know if u need the headunit my friend wholesales these units.

I put in a 6610 no problems almost. Steering controls work. With the Ipod adaptor, I just removed the OEM plug from the console, tucked it dowm and ran the eclipse wire oit of the same spot. I did have trouble with it throwing a code, it was the speed sensor wire (purple). I just snipped it. No issues. They may have fixed this on the 6620.
