You're mistake. It says that an employee was working at the first station, then at the end of the day is delivering the cash for the day to the 2nd station whose manager also owns the first one. The robber followed this guy that was delivering the cash and stole it when he got out of the car. Probably not an inside job but just someone who knew that the guy delivered money every night to the other station. Happens all the time with small businesses too that keep their cash at banks overnight or over the weekend.
