Hello all. I'm gauging interest for a possible group buy on a turbo system for the Tc. (there's a similar post in the xA/xB group section, we're extending the offer for the Tc). The kit will include a custom 4-1 style SS manifold, front mount intercooler, 16g or T28 turbo, and an upgraded fuel system (and everything needed to install the kit). The 'Stage 1' kit will be net around 250-260HP. Price will be $2500-$2800.
Please post on this thread (or email me) if you're interested. I'll post more details later if we have interest.
For reference, we just finished up a similar kit for a Toyota Paseo. The car put down 180HP at the wheels. Check out side for pictures:

PS -- I know only paid sponsors are supposed to post 'ads' like this.... If we have interest, we will most definitely sponsor this site. Thanks for the space.

you should wait until the trd supercharger specs and prices come out, then more people will know if or if not they are interested.

Sounds good to me..Im looking a getting a Turbo Kit soon..but I dont know which one to get..I heard the T3 Turbos are better for our engines then 16Gs and T28s because of our compression ratio.

I'd be interested tho!!

What is wrong with you guys..Ok..heres the deall

The Supercharger is going to have like 200 WHP for like 4000-4300 Dollars

Or

a Turbo with 200WHP-300WHP for like 2000-3500 Dollars..

The correct question is what is wrong with YOU! Some of us don't want to jump all over a turbo charger because we're being PATIENT! All signs about the supercharger point to the face that it did not release yet because they were upping the power. Nobody, except TRD themselves, know what the HP read out will be on the tC and Ive read posts on here ranging from 200-250whp! The bottom line is why jump all over a turbo just to find out that the Supercharger was only like 30 hp less and came with a full warranty. If some of us want to wait dont ask whats wrong with us. If you want to get a turbocharger go for it but not all of us have the cash to wreck our warrenties for a measly few horses!

Yes, this will be a bolt on kit. The 16g is a good turbo, but we could to a T3 instead if that's what the group wants.
I know a lot of you don't have $2.5-3k to pony up for a turbo kit; so as an alternative, we could offer more of a 'DIY' piece together type kit. This would include an initial run of turbo manifolds, IC pipes, and intercoolers that you could purchase separately. Then you would supply turbo, oil lines, and fuel management yourself. The turbo manifolds would run anywhere from $350-450 depending on the design, and manifold and intercooler kit together would be under $1000.
So if/when there is interest, I'll need a donor car to test and fabricate the parts, and whoever owns the car will get a significant discount on these parts. We would need to car for a minimum of 1 week.
Some that (above) was a repost from the similar thread I'e got in the xA/xB section:

I completely agree with Bakaduin, a scion rep says that TRD has been working on the charger longer to up its HP, and might be offereing Stage kist to up it even further such as an optional intercooler, fuel system upgrade, etc. If this kit was to get my HP up above 200whp, i would definatly go for it b/c my warrenty would also stay intact.

I am leaning towards a Turbo Kit. I found a local shop that is selling a stage 2 kit for about 3700.00 output is over 300 whp. They also told me that at that rate I should replace to cluth, due to the hp increase the stock cluth starts to slip. I don't think the TRD supercharger will kick out more than 69% increase.

i would be interested. As long as it puts out good performance and is well designed for a competitive price.

Def. go with a T3 ...Much better for our compression ratio

I know its an old thread, but just a word of warning from a member of another car forum where Josh from Speed Dezines tried to do one of these turbo kit deals. Anyways, he posted up the deal and once he had peoples money he abandoned the thread, his website went down, and Josh & Speed Dezines where very hard to contact. Anyways, details can be found in these two threads and some pictures of the poor quality work that I received. Just relating my experience and opinions of Speed Dezines, maybe keep someone else from having to go through what I've had to.
