Default Xa 6sp?

I would love to have a 6sp transmission in my Xa. Does anyone have any ideas?

I was wondering if a celica 6sp conversion would be possible.

Or you can alter your trans case for the celica gear set...

Either way, you gotta cut up some chit

you'll be taking your car out of the power band if you put in a 6th spd

do what others have done in the past drop in a echo transmission it bolts right up...

Wow! People really need to learn to use the search button. The Celica 6-speed (C60) will not fit into the xA/xB 5-Speed (C150) case, in order to install the C60 gearset you need to do some machining to your C150 case, a C160 is whats needed. The different gearing is compensated for by the shorter final drive. The gearing ends up working well. Do a search and you will find out how to properly get a 6 speed to work in your xA/xB.

whats the point? Does the xA even make enough horses to go past 80mph? Just stick with your 5spd

I tried searching for solutions, with both Google and on the forum. I don't guess I was using the right words.
The C60 gear set w/ the C160 case sounds good. Has anyone done this. I'd like to do some more research if some one could get me directed in the right place.

Dude is it really worth it? Enjoy the xA for what it is..a fun gas saving eco car. Even if you discovered a way to swap a six speed, your going to need money and a reputable shop. Not to mention that swaps are never full proof. There will most likely be a problem in the near future. If you want to make your ride better and more enjoyable..invest in a little boost and call it a day. Plus 5 spd is awesome.

No you don't use anything from the C60 at all. The C160 swap is bullet proof, is proven and worth every damn penny. Find a C160, swap only the bell housing from your stock C150, get Corolla S axle seals and notch your driver side frame rail to accommodate your longer transmission case. Other than swapping the bell housing and noticing the frame rail, it bolts right in.
