6sp tranny
A 6th "highway gear" is the only way this would make any sort of sense, but the thousands of dollars you would need to make the swap would offset any fuel saving gains you would have over the entire time you'd own the car.
Plus, I like being able to pass without shifting.

the only thing i saw hope in for a 6spd was that the new corolla XRS is the 2.4 liter 6spd manual... soon as i saw that i was like... oh crap all the D.B's on SL are gonna love this one... guess no one else saw that...

i thought about 6 speed till i got an 07 civic wich is smooth on gas and rpm stay very low under normal driving but in the mountains its 6500 rpm and my tc goes that same route without down shifting, so i trully enjoy my tc for it's torque and gearing more now.
6spd is only good on cars that can rev really high... you can take advantage more of the gearing up and down shifting...
5 gears is fine. NOW if you change the gearing ratios and final drive on the stock e35 tranny thats a whole other story that would be more beneficial then just a 6spd.

Only thing I'd like to see is for them to change the gear ratio for 1st. I've driven and raced a lot of different cars over the years...and wouldn't mind seeing toyota slightly change the ratio on 1st for the tC's. would be a lot smoother in my opinion
