My suggestion would be the vinyls because if you mess up, you can always take them off. There's a less likely chance something could go wrong. Probably cost less too.

i painted mine. gives you the option to go as light or as dark as you want. i like the look of paint compared to vinyl, but with vinyl, if you ever get a fix it ticket it'll be way easier to remove compared to paint.

vinyls requires alot of patience...ALOT of patience..I've done both and liked the painting better. After putting the vinyls on my tails I immediately decided I didn't like em, could just tell it was vinyl. The painting did seem kinda intimidating at first, but it is kinda easy and less stressful imo. Just don't go TOO dark or else your askin for trouble.

Also if using vht, the paint can be taken off using laquer thinner then buffed out to look just like new.

I'd go the paint route, can make it the exact darkness you want and it is removable as well. You will need to clear a day in your schedule if your paintin em though. Both require patience though so be prepared and goodluck whichever you go!

please do, its easier you have to wet sand and prep and it cant be done properly on the car, pull the bumper and take the tails out, wet sand them with a scotch-brite pad thoroughly then wipe them with alcohol and do not touch them again with bare hands the oil in your hand will cause them to orange peel, prep them well and wipe them well and use the VHT for the tint spray, do thin even coats lots of them until you get them as dark as you want them, take your time or youll have alot of headache, and i end up buying them on the cheap and redoing them

^well that's what I mean with paint, you'll have to prep, wet sand, apply several coats, clear coat, and repeat, etc. If you don't do it exactly right, it'll give you a lot of headach. Plus, both sides might turn out differently. Paint might give it a better look, but if you do the vinyl right, it'll be hard to tell the difference. Either way, gl with your project.

definitely pull your bumper off and take the tails off the car. its a lot of sanding, and a lot of time spent waiting in between coats, but its well worth it. i had no idea what i was doing when i decided to paint my tails, but i just went for it and it turned out pretty good. don't be intimidated about painting, if you mess up just remove the paint and start over again. its a learning experience
