Default AutoX Yesterday

We had another autox yesterday that I was actually able to go to (it was event #4, but only my 2nd of the year). We had a total of 38 drivers running (about average for the location we had - not bad).

There were three of us in ST. The other two included a guy I regularly compete with (and am usually VERY close to in time) and another guy who was sharing his car. He has a Mazda Protoge 5 that is fairly well prepped. I have to ask him some day to figure out what exactly he's done... but it's decent.

Anyway... we got 8 runs in. The Protoge and I went back and forth for the morning set, I eventually was ahead with a 47.007 to his 47.583. In the second set of runs I finally managed to break the 47 second barrier - but hit a cone. Sooooo ____ed. But we were both stuck right around 47 seconds for a while.

My very last run, finally pulled it together for a 46.578... but the Protoge still had one run left - and I know he has the time in it. He ended up with a 46.....811. I edged him out on our last runs by 0.233 seconds. It was a blast.

I also was 2nd place in PAX for the day. Just barely beat out by a very good driver in a stock MR2 in ES.

Mostly just suspension. Struts, springs, sways, strut bars, front camber bolts...

Here, this is easier than me typing: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/gar...40-ack154.html

I just won't be keeping my tC for a whole lot longer. If I have it all of the way through winter, I'll surprise myself.

No point in dropping any more $$ into it at this point.

Haha. Not necessarily. Though the wrx is on my list. Along with GTI and Gen Coupe 2.0t. Those are probably the front runners at the moment.

If you continue to autocross, you might want to rethink your list...

The current WRX has a 2.5l, which puts it in STU with STI's & Evos...

Chances are I might stay stock for a while... autox will be a factor (I've actually compared stock classes for each of the ones I'm looking at) but it won't be a huge one. I'd still be having fun anyway - just need to find the right car.
