Default So I know there's lots of cam gear threads...

... but unless I missed it, I read them all and I have seen none that tell how the heck you see through the tiny threaded-plug hole to push the tensioner plunger back and lock it- especially since it is directly in line with the FRAME RAIL!!!! Anybody done it? The parts are coming tomorrow- I'm all set to do it but that kinda concerns me. The rest looks like cake.
Thanks in advance...

Default Well I'm into it now...

I am able to do exactly what the manual tells you- get the timing marks lined up, cyl 1 @TDC; remove inspection plug in timing cover, push lever on cam chain tensioner up (I have a bent screwdriver for just such an application), turn the exhaust cam to take out the slack in the chain (moves the tensioner slipper back), drop the lever on the tensioner and insert a 2-3mm pin... Well, that's where I'm stymied. I can insert the pin when the chain is under tension (lever down) but can't seem to rotate the lever down enough to insert the pin when the tensioner plunger is all the way in. Any ideas?

Default Well, THAT code's gone now...

So I was able to finish the job- basically need a thin pointed pin to insert into the cam chain adjuster lever. Once you get that it's a 1/2 hr job. Car runs great- 50 miles and BAM- threw another code. This one P0011. Looks like I should've changed the oil control valve or at least the filter... Any experiences with that?
