Default injen short ram finally installed

well got this thing in tonight, only took me 1hr and im a newb so it wasnt bad at all.

the walk through in the tech section here was 99.9% perfect!!!! only thing to watch out for is 06 VSV is slightly different.

any tips on what I can use to hold that VSV to the L bracket? What would work for a twisty tie or whatever inside a hot engine area??

I also ended up finding out I was minus 2 hose clamps, so I had to use the old ones off the stock hose from the crank case hose...which sucks cause they are not as well made..i will get some better ones and add them on

As for feeling more power? Cant say I do...i think the better way to describe it is my car feels more...smooth is a good word I think, I am happy with it.

couple of peeps answered some questions on SL.com too ..thank you.

Cool deal. Heavy gauge wire might do the trick. Twist-Ties are kinda thin and will break after a while. Did you reset the ECU after the install?

no matter which one u get, SRI or CAI, the filter is hard to get to. Your best bet for servicing the filter is to remove the bumper take off the filter clean it and the pop it all back together, thats what i am going to do when it comes time, i have the injen sri, but i am just unsure of when to clean the filter

i did NOT reset the ecu, i had no check engine light after either

all seems fine, im sure it will take the ecu a little time to adjust to the greater air flow but everything seems fine!

thanks for the info on how to tie the VSV on too

if anyone else isnt sure where the tech section is its top Features then Tech..look for the "intake install" its listed as some other brand but its identical to the Injen SRI

as for replacing, not even thnking about that lol when its time...its time will work it out then

no not at all, its just simple unbolt and bolt on, it sounds hard and fustrating, but it really isn't. i dont rmeber how many, but it was around 4-6 bolts that hold on the front bumper, an expert, just a weekend wrencher.
i guess if you want too, you could remove the battery and take out the whole intake assembly, but then you would have to unbolt all of the stuff that was just installed, and you just did yours, so you rmemebr all of it, i did mine in july so im a little cloudy on everything i did to install it, but those are the only 2 ways that i know of , hope this helps you.

both the CAI and SRI's are positioned behind the fog light covers or fog lights (whichever you have), so it is really no difference, maybe someone who has cleaned theirs might have used another method.

The guys at K&N recommend reseting the ECU by removing the negative battery cable from the battery for about 5 minutes whenever you do a "power upgrade." You'll instant see an improvement in performance. Only problem is that you'll lose your radio presets. I think someone posted how to reset the ECU by removing a fuse (not sure where the post is).

my battery was completely removed during the install so everything was reset..it took me about an hour so i know it was reset.

i LOVE the intake too ...with the borla exhaust its a nice smooth combo.

I drove about 25 miles this afternoon and cruised up one of the big bridges here in jacksonville and it was smooth..i had to give it some gas but it wasnt bad at all

lovin it

im leaning towards either springs next - or - headers

3rd choice is some JDM parts and such, throw in some de-badging as well
