bas ic question im sure you have heard a thousand times and if you have somethign bad to say just dont post it because i wont read it. ok so i realyl like the tC but i also realyl like the new v6 mustang... so you can guess what my question is. now this is want i want from a car. it had to look good duh. it needs to be fast w/o attracting every cop with in 20 milles AKA my old wrx. it needs to get me up and back romt he mountian for snowboarding. it needs to be something ican keep for atleast 6 years and last that long as well, now dont go into the whole thing about ford's reliabilty i have a ford taurus that lasted longer than my WRX and i treated it like ____ its a 98 model 180K only one trans put in it and had a slight oil leek other than that its perfect. so any input would be great thanks guys

Neither are "fast". But the tC is fast enough for what it is and the V6 mustang is SLOW for what it is.

On the snow, with snow tires on both you will probably like the tC better.. unless you are really used to driving a RWD in the snow. But a lot of people nowadays are not so the tC is probably better ... but not with the stock tires.

Unless Ford really pulled out something I wouldnt count on the stang lasting half as long without issues as the tC, any toyota or most anything really. I have never heard of a "reliable" mustang. I have owned one that had constant issues as have a good number of my friends. I know of some 64's, 89's and most of the 90s that were nothing but issues... (I'll give the 64 a break.. it was over 40 years old )

So, for features for price, power in its class (and they arent too far off overall which is sad), drivability for what you want to do and reliability I would have to say tC.

I love the mustang, one of my favorite muscle cars of all time. However, for carting your stuff around in winter and the drivability...tC. In my my most humble personal opinion...you buy a mustang...gotta be a V8. Sorry. I've got to say the tC, also you gotta look at insurance and gas.

Basically a rehash, but...

from what I hear, the V8 in the new Mustang GT has more reliability issues than the V6 model. I haven't seen any hard proof, but that's because I don't keep up with most US make vehicles. If you plan to drive anywhere that has the possibility to snow, you would need FWD. RWD is too hard for the average person to control in those situations. You'd probably have an easier time fitting all your gear into a hatch as opposed to the trunk of a 'Stang.
