steering column key rub pad????
I've seen some cars havce a pad on the steering column that pervents the keys from rubbing on the plastic. Anyone seen an after market versin of this? What the hell would you call it to ask about it?
A few years ago I had a Nissan truck that needed one of those real bad. The keys used to swing and knock against the steering column. Here's what I did: I bought a pack of black, adhesive-backed velcro. You know how velcro has the rough side and the soft fuzzy side? Well I cut a piece of the soft fuzzy side to fit the area (about 2"X2") and stuck it on the column with the adhesive. It worked great and it even looked good.
possible solution??
DONT PUT SO MANY KEYS ON YOUR RING AND KEEP IT SHORT SO IT CANT SCRATCH ANYTHING.

With only a single key in the ignition, you have no worries about damage at it looks much less tacky than velsro or a pad of some sort.

I might just do that. My keys are the last thing making noise in my car, after fixing all the other buzzes and rattles.
Good idea...
