A few years ago I had a Nissan truck that needed one of those real bad. The keys used to swing and knock against the steering column. Here's what I did: I bought a pack of black, adhesive-backed velcro. You know how velcro has the rough side and the soft fuzzy side? Well I cut a piece of the soft fuzzy side to fit the area (about 2"X2") and stuck it on the column with the adhesive. It worked great and it even looked good.

That may be all you need, but some of us need a few more. I have a key to each car, my house key, my mom's house key, my office key and a remote.

Yeah, he'll accumulate more as time goes on. I'm waiting for cars and door locks to start using the little fingerprint scanners like they have on some PCs now. They also use them at some buisinesses to charge your debit card.

I have my ignition key on a carabiner and just snap it right off when I hope in my box.

With only a single key in the ignition, you have no worries about damage at it looks much less tacky than velsro or a pad of some sort.

I might just do that. My keys are the last thing making noise in my car, after fixing all the other buzzes and rattles.

Good idea...

Glad you two like my idea.

After all the DIY articles and tips I have picked up since joining this forum, I only want to make a contribution back to the site and its members.

Keep those boxes in great shape people!
