Does anyone know where to get dustless brake pads ... These OEM bads SUCK and kill my wheel with brake dust.

metallic pads they make less dust but you will need to press on the brake harder

The tirerack offers the green pads for our xBs, not sure on the price though.

TRD offers no alternative to this? as in an aftermarket pad for the box? :?:

if your gettin a lot of brake dust, maybe you should change your driving habits. Brake dust only appears when you BRAKE a lot!! Time to stop beating everyone to the stoplight and learn some safety habits when braking. You don;t want to mess up your brakes this early in the game. :?

Try Looking into Ceramic pads! Not only are they supos to be cleaner they handle the heat better and I have herd the actuly work better! I have actuly found them to be caried at most auto part stores! Oh the down side is they a a bit more expensive!!

Was looking at getting a set of porterfields for one of our trac cars, I've had good luck with them on the track in the past.

One thing to keep in mind also though is that generally the pads that offer better bite in stopping power produce more dust. Compromises are made in brake pad construction that may make a substantial difference in braking ability, dust, noise, fade, "working" operating temperature, etc. Nothing is free in this department.

all pads create dust. you have a perishable material rubbing against metal with great friction. there is no possible way for them to be dustless. it's physics man.

Ctech is right you wont get rid of the dust just limit the amout you have to clean! I dont know if they work or if they are even on the market but some shields you put on the insie of the wheel between the brake were sold and it kept the brake dust off the wheels but im not sure if they can be obtained or are made any more!

Ceramic Pads - try Napa Auto Parts. My experience is they're a lot more expensive, but they cut down on the dust. My vehicle now (not a Scion) is very heavy and the OEM pads get too hot and glaze over and then start squealing. They make a lot of dust, too. My silver wheels look brownish/black by the end of 7 days. Ceramic pads are nearly 3x as expensive as regular pads.

Once I get into the xB, though, I'll be putting on ceramics immediately.

The only bummer with ceramic pads is the harder compound eats through rotors a bit quicker. Buddy of mine has Lincoln LS which comes standard with ceramic pads and aluminum calipers....supposedly he found the LS goes through brake jobs a bit faster than normal pads, but it isn't a dramatic difference UNLESS you are hard on your brakes.

I have tried the EBC Green Stuff and the Mintex pads on my old Focus. I prefered the EBC's by far. Better initial bite, less brake fade, and hardly any dust on the wheels. I abused the ____ out of those brakes autocrossing and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good street pad.
