when the gas lamp turns on how many miles or gallons of gas are left?

View Full Version : How many miles left when gas lamp comes up? 2fixA 11-08-2003, 08:12 AM I've gotten off the freeway right when it turns on to fillup, and it usually has about 1.5 to 2 gallons left immediately after the light turns on.. for me that is safely (i.e. not freaking out about stalling out of gas completely) 40 to 60 miles which is about 1.5 gallons for me (xA) but you can calculate your own numbers as YMMV (your mileage may vary) by calculating a safety zone of having 1.0 to 1.5 gallons when that light turns on Scionic 11-08-2003, 04:53 PM Exactly what 2fixA said. For me, it always goes on after 9.5 gallons, so 2.5 gallons left.
