I am looking for a small digitial thermometer for my Xa. Preferably I would like to have one that had a wireless sensor so I did not have to snake a cord all over the car.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

I'm using one that I picked up at Radio Shack for something like $20. I had one in my last car too, and the battery in the remote sensor lasted over a year. I did have my doubts to it's accuracy though, I would recommend just getting a wired one, which should be more compact and just wire it to someplace away from the radiator and near the intake.

I just went by the radio shack by me and they don't have the black one's like I got last time anymore. All the ones they have are white boxes, which would look pretty poor on a dashboard (unless you take some model paint and paint it the platinum trim color the rest of the peices are). But there is hope, Wal-Mart (even though I abhor the place) carries an even better selection at lower prices, FYI.

yea, saw those ones... they actually had a black skinny one, made for car use for external and internal temperatures, plugs into your cigg lighter... that one was 15 bucks, but they were sold out, said they'd be getting some more in in about a week. so i'm gonna try back over there in a week, i guess i'll take a look around walmart just to see what they got to offer.... i think that black skinny one had red display... i hope so, i need red digital display :D

thanks for the tips!

How would you run the wire for the sensor?

You could probably get away with just running the wire through the door and to the front underneath the quarter panel, but I am willing to bet there is a firewall grommet you can poke the sensor through (it's usually a skinny bullet shape) and then run the wire to wherever you want it, just keep it away from any hoses or parts that get hot.

yea, that's the one...

not too big, it's pretty small, and if you mold it in all you need is the screen showing and rewire the power button, i'm sure i wouldn't need the other 3... looks like they're for bs options.. like alarm; that's the only one i could make out. proly only need the light button actually, i think once it has power it's on. would probably be best just to wire that thing to the inside of the door panel because there's too many chances of getting a wrong reading through the engine bay.

I got one from WalMart for around $10 and it's silver/gray....better looking than the Radio Shack one IMO.

I'll see if I can take a picture when I get home later. :)

coo, yea, pics would be nice... i'm still trying to figure out were i'm going to mold it in.. does the walmart one have a flat face?

i dun really care if it's digital, analog would be chills too.. don't wanna get too ricer though cause an analog may be mistaken for a gauge.
