I have that on a Blue xB and it's been a life saver for my rear because of the summer camping and trips i've done. Flipper 11-13-2003, 04:18 AM hey Bro Ive found that the best thing to remove the sticky residue is WD40. WD40 is one of the best inventions man has created, BlueBox 11-13-2003, 05:15 AM hey Bro Ive found that the best thing to remove the sticky residue is WD40. WD40 is one of the best inventions man has created, WD-40 can be harmful to paint or atleast its coating if overly used..can leave dullness on the gloss, i believe..although it's a great medium for removing sticky/gooey gunk on other surfaces.... i personally recommend Bug and Tar for Vehicle..u can get it at Pepboys...it's safe on the paint coat...and will safely remove the residue. i'm planning to debadge my xB sign this weekend....and i'm using the Bug and Tar for sure... Hardhitten 11-13-2003, 05:24 AM thanks for the tips let me know how that goes Blue randode 11-13-2003, 03:37 PM just let it sit in the sun, or use a hair drier on it. Then peel that sucker off. Clean up any left over adhesive with Goo-Gone. squirrel 11-13-2003, 05:24 PM I've also used 3M adhesive remover with good results. I haven't tried goo-gone, maybe I should. boxzila 11-13-2003, 08:25 PM When we purchased our xB it had the scion logo across both of the front sides, when it was warm it came off nicely and left only a little residue. However, the passenger side was hell. By the time we got to it the sun had gone down and it was a lot cooler outside so it left a lot of residue. To get all of the goo off we used wd-40 and it worked like a charm. we did it in small areas at a time and then when it all was gone we washed it really well and then buffed it out. You couldn't tell at all that there was a sticker there and the paint didn't look dull at all. I am with Flipper on this one, wd 40 worked like a charm. Vicki |
