Default Exhaust vs. Warrantee

Does anyone know if putting on an aftermarket exhaust/intake will void the warrantee?

Get ready for some a rostin' this is a common question around here. But I will give you the general answer I seem to see when I see posts about warranty. Nothing will effect a warranty service unless the dealer can prove the aftermarket part caused the reason for the warranty service. So, short answer is no.

scion has stated that putting the muffler on will not void your warranty. however, if anything goes wrong with the engine or drivetrain as a result of the muffler, they will not fix it. so if you put the muffler on and you get a bent intake valve after you put the muffler on, the repair to the valve will not be covered under warranty. this is my understanding of how it works. anyone else have a better explination?

I see what you mean. But in theory, If something were to go wrong, and it could be considered the fault of the exhaust, I could just bolt up the stock one before bringing the problem to the dealer and they wont know the difference...right?
