Default sticky shifting

Brand new 2006 XB owner here and have about 150 miles on my new ride. I have noticed that the synchros are acting as if they are worn out. I frequently have to double clutch at stop lights in order to get the transmission to get into 1st gear.

Anyone else have experienced some notchy shifting issues?

go back to the dealer tell them that you are having a problem and they will probably tell you your clutch needed adjustment, that is ushally what is wrong. clutch breaks in and then needs to be adjusted.

+1 for taking it back to the Dealership, atleast make them aware of the problem and they can tell you if it is normal or needs to be adjusted.

Mine was like that. Sometimes just refused to go into first when stopped. Now with about 700mi on it, it's MUCH better. Only rarely is it slightly balky. I had thought about changing transaxle fluid to synthetic but now I don't think it will be nessesary. BTW I also had clutch chatter that has almost completely cured itself.

yeah i have the issue myself sometimes took it to the dealer they couldn't recreate it i still need to try another dealership. i think it has something to do with the linkage. the clutch system is hydraulic so it shouldn't ever need any adjustments those should happen on there own.

thanks for the responses guys......

I thought the clutch was hydraulic so I was surprised to hear it needed adjusting.

I have found that when it wont go into gear at a stop light.....if I just double clutch and/or blip the throttle--it will slip into gear immediately as soon as the rpms start to raise.

This makes me think it is a problem with the synchros not fully meshing. I am gonna bring it back and see what they have to say about it anyway and will post on hear what I learn.
