Well I know that axelbacks are mostly a sound only mod, but I am still considering Borla anyway. I do wish it was a catback though. I have listened to many audio clips and too many I really dont like the sound of. I had a Borla on my 94 Ford Probe and liked it alot. So I have experience with it. I like how it sounds, but still kind of would like to know what Borla owners think after long term use. I just cant stand rasp from an exhuast.

i had a borla axleback on my 2005 corolla, and really liked the sound, and recieved a lot of complimants as well.

^^ x2, I got mine directly from the dealership installed and love the sound 100% percent. It was a "cat-back" exhaust as listed in the dealership, so I dont know if there is a different one sold ( i.e a cat-back and axle back). Mine is small round exhaust like the video post and have seen Tc "Borla" exhausts on sites looking more like the Maganaflow style oval cylinder type.

As far as perfomance, I definitely feel it, have taken on stock Tc's and pull on them every time. hope it helps

 

We have the Borla and LOVE IT!!! The sound is great, growls under accelleration and goes quiet at 70. Ours came from a dealer and we had them install. Although it says axle back, and it is but it requires some cutting and I suggest welding the joint. It comes with a clamp. Ours never seemed to seal, so they welded it. Oh and That vid is thwe one we have. There are 2 different exhaust's by Borla.

The older one is the one I have. This also shows all the parts I am talking about. The flange you have to cut off yourself from your exisiting system( or at least in mine ) and clamp to the new system with the supplied exhaust clamp. The ehaust clamp is good to get it all in place, thats about it. This is why I say go to shop. Have it welded, it makes a sound difference too, the sound is a little deeper with it welded. I went to a good local shop in Austin, Tx. and I paid $30 for them to straigten and weld it. They do all the local dealership work so they came recommended. They did a great job, seemless weld nice mating area and sraight tip, I think that is the key. People with crooked exhaust???
