Default Brief High pitch noise at 65 MPH

I just noticed this on my drive to and from my parents for the weekend. I had to turn off the radio since I was on the phone. I was also varying my speed since I am still breaking in the car.
Accelerate past 65, let of gas, while car is naturally slowing down, when it hits 65, there is a high pitch noise. I can't really isolate where it's coming from. I've tried it in 5th gear while slowing down and in neutral while slowing down and it still makes a noise. I am trying to rule out the transmission. I've also tried it on many different freeway roads and all make the noise, so I'm ruling out the road.

Anyone else notice this?
So far I've only heard it at 65 MPH. Kinda weird. Next time your driving around that speed, please check it out for me.

Thanks.

I think I know the noise you're talking about.. it's the way toyota set up the intake on the car.. it's air actually rushing into the intake.. but it sounds kinda of like high pitched weezing noise.. mine happens when it's cold.. but yes I have heard it at 65 mph.. and when cold at about 20mph..

if this is the same type of noise.. it's nothing to worry about, happens under acceleration.. and comes and goes at speed of 60-65mph.. I have an auto tC and it happens with mine..

don't worry it's most likely normal.. i heard it at first and didn't know what it was, but remembered my old 96 Civic did that but sounded like a waterfall rushing noise.. this one has a plastic (believe it's nylon 66 material) intake so the noise is going to sound sort of plasticky and almost electronic ... hope that helps..

i hear a noise too... no offense or anything, but i don't think its the intake. i've driven two different camrys and they don't have that noise. i've driven at highway speeds before and i don't hear that noise. i have an auto tc and the noise occurs between 65-80, or maybe higher but i haven't pushed my car past 80. got about 250 miles on it.

the noise i heard went away under 65. i tried driving local around those same rpms in 3rd gear so its not from the engine, i don't think its the tranny either. i've driven at those speeds before without hearing the noise.

i was actually listening to the radio at the time, drove by a semi, and i almost thought it was the truck causing rf interference. i shut off the radio and it was still there. it sounds like some sort of high pitched vibration.

its been discussed already, but ive never gave my input. so here it is. i just recently experienced this. i was driving about 85 yesterday on a toll road and no noise. but when i was going back in the opposite direction. the noise was only heard after 85+ mph. it was so loud in my car it almost drowned out my music which was the volume was set at 25. oh well, when my next oil change comes up. ill ask if they can fix the problem.

hmmm.. the noise I am talking about is from the intake.. kind of a light high pitched noise.. it comes and goes.. it's from the resonator in the intake.. they put it in there to increase the mid-rpm torque.. camry's don't have the same intake, so you'd never hear it from that car... i have an auto tC as well.. and it happens at about 60 mph it starts.. usually with light acceleration.. i have 900 miles.. have had it briefly at 70mph.. and was very quiet.. very smooth..

Sounds like it might be more than the intake.. i would get it into the dealer and have them check it out.. it's what a warranty is good for

let us know what they find out..

wtf. you guy must of mistreat your cars or something. i have no problems with my car yet. no noise, nothing. i even redlined it on first and second gear a couple times, even my friends too. NO PROBLEM

i took the left fog cover off and no problems.. with the wind blowing hard because of hurricanes i feel that my car is driving even smoother, maybe because the wind is blowing into the fog cover hole even more and straight to the airbox..

I don't mistreat my car. Never noticed it until I had to mute the radio to talk to someone. I haven't taken it past 70 so can't tell you if the noise happens at higher MPH. For me it's only around 65, nothing higher nothing lower. Totally reproduceable for a service tech. I'll mention it when I take it to have a paint chip fixed. Paint chip was discovered during my walkaround before delivery.
