My wife has a 2004 Xb, all factory with no mods.

We've both been sick over the last few days, and the weather's been cool to cold, so, she didn't get out of the house for about 3 days.

I went to start her car so I could go to the grocery store, and for the first time I ever remember, it didn't want to start. The starter was engaging the flywheel and turning the motor over, but, it didn't want to "kick over".

I put it on a battery booster, so as to not run down the batter, and didn't run the starter constantly, so as to not melt it down.

It took probably a good 5-10 minutes of cranking for a bit, waiting for a bit, and it finally kicked over and ran.

It's been started everyday since, and with no problems, and no codes as of yet.

What I'm guessing is that it lost fuel pressure, and the fuel emptied out of the fuel line back to the tank, and it just took a while to fuel back to the motor?

Is this normal, or does this sound like another issue creeping in?

 

had this happen to me once months ago. late summer i would say. it NEVER happened again either. except it only took about a minute to start. it's been like 7k or 8k miles more, and never had it happen again.

 

could be a number of things. double check the spark plugs, maf, etc.
