Default Should i Paint my tail lights or put Overlay Vinyl

What should i do? What do you guys recommend i do to my tail lights...i want to change the look on them...but i really don't know what i should do...i am having some trouble on deciding this...i am thinking that if i paint my tail lights they will eventually fade out in some short time or if i go with overlays once they fade out i can exchange them for new ones....i was looking at the Blue bat mobile overlays....plz give me some input on this one....those that have painted them and those who have the overlays...thanks guys...:D

Check out Jinsu in the Sponsored Sales Section, he's offering Clear Guard tail light overlays for the xB.

The clearguards are indeed much nicer than the Blue Batmobile overlays.

I was planning to get overlays from Andrew (BlueBatmobile), but I found someone who could paint my tails. Still waiting for them to be done, hopefully soon.

I'd say just paint em.

I got spray off of ebay... it works pretty good. It depends what you like, anyway, either one will be alot nicer than your regular ones

Considering the number of people on this board who've been rearended, I wouldn't do anything that decreases the amount of light the tails put out. So if you want to add some kind of colored layer, find yourself some brighter bulbs as well.

paint the insides, be very careful seperating the lenses as it is very easy to crack em, the thing is if you do you can buy a set of stockers for $40 and start over. If you paoin the insides, the tails will still be smooth and shiny on the outside and the paint will not peel off or get scratched. I;ve painted three sets for mine so far and I'm still not totally satisfied but right now I have lights that look far better than anything you can buy for $80 and a lot of spare taillight parts.
