Is your car Too Loud? Intake/Exhaust?
Does anyone have just an Intake installed on their stock car? Yes, just Intake and no Exhaust system yet.
For those who do, is the noise level while driving annoying at all?
I'm gonna be driving in traffic a lot starting next week. So I'm having second thought about getting an Intake + what ever.

intake only isnt bad... wont start making too much noise until after 3500 or so. thats not bad considering you dont need to go any higher than that for daily driving. if you add an exhaust it will be louder in the lower rpms for sure and then the intake noise will pick up later.
add a header and it will be quite loud. you could also do intake and header but no exhaust and it wont be too loud. i have injen intake and trd exhaust and its not bad at all. my buddy has intake and header but stock exhaust and its not loud until you're pushing the car.

haha sorry bro, i dont have a camcorder or anything to record the sound, let alone know how to post it. i believe there was another person that has injen intake and trd exhaust with a sound clip somewhere, just search for it. but the sound is NICE! i plan on getting header but sometimes hesitate because i know for a fact that the tone will change.
I had the Injen Race Division CAI and the Tanabe SRM on my Celica GT and I loved it. It wasnt loud like a Honda but it wasnt quiet either it really only made niose when you really gave it gas or sat there reving the engine.. Its up to your taste any exhaust is going to add sound to your car no matter how you look at it. If you prefer a noisless or noise free car stay stock..
intake isnt that loud esp when your daily driving or in traffic. it is only loud when u step on the gas hard enough or at high rpms. its only loud entering the freeway because you are hitting the gas to get to the freeway speed.
My buddy had K&N on his automatic - took it off after about 40 minutes - was too loud for him. I had it for couple of days after him - did not feel any difference in acceleration, but the noise was pretty bad at WOT and on the way there. My little hommade shortram is quieter.
And as far as performance or comfort goes - you can have both ;)

I have the Weapon R short ram intake and that's it right now...
it's silent while doing NORMAL driving...if you give it a little gas at the right time...it'll do the nice little intake whistle....it sounds wonderful at wide open throttle though!.....I like it cuz it's quiet when I want it to be...
