Default AC will not shut off ....

Jumped in my box today and my AC was on when I started the engine. The switch was in the off position when I started it. Tried to turn it off with the switch and it stayed on and will not turn off. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do about this???

Any time you have it on Defrost the AC will run.

Thanks for the ideas, the circulation switch is where it has always been, I never move it.
The light on the switch stays on and so does the AC, unless I turn the fan off, then the light on the switch goes out, the AC switch will not turn the AC off. Also, the defroster is not on, I've never used it either.
Probably a bad switch or some sensor failed, looks like a trip to the dealer is in my future, I need to get one of my free oil changes anyway.
Thanks for your help!
