Default Finally got rid of my xB

Well, in January I finally got rid of my xB, and I couldn't be happier. I was really disapointed in the gas mileage I was getting. 27 city and 32 hwy. To me this is crap, so I went out and got myself a 2006 VW Jetta TDI. I couldn't be more pleased. Currently, I have a over all fuel economy of 40mpg with 60% city. In city I have been averaging 38mpg and on the hwy I have achieved 49mpg.
The other thing that really bugged me about the xB was how weak the engine was. Well, that is no longer a problem with my TDI. The horsepower may only be 100hp or so but with 177ft-lb of torque you take off like a bat out of hell.
Good riddens to bad rubbish!

I'm glad your happy, i'm getting rid of mine too. However, that torque doesn't make you go like a "bat out of hell". Torque means little, look at trucks with 500tq and 200hp, just throwing random numbers out there but alot of trucks have similar numbers. 3,300lbs+ and they are slllooowww.

Thats too simple of a statement. Believe what you want, have fun with the car you have. Why even bother making a post out of it? No pictures nothing. Just to put down the xb? Okay.

That's a diesel right? 27to32 in an xB is about average. You knew that when you bought it right? Why didn't you just get a Jetta to begin with? If you want to save gas buy a 150cc scooter. 100mpg.

Have fun with the Jetta I guess. but dont make it seem like the jetta is goign to save you money because if you want to mod the VW's your going to be sepending tons of money for aftermarket parts. Just like my brother with his 1.8T GTI. Parts for V dubs are stupid expensive, even for ebay parts.....

To buy a TDI and share is one thing

To buy a TDI and come back to the community to diss the xB to prove the TDI is better is another thing...

Well GENIUS~! the TDI is not that fast~!

Proof:

http://www.caranddriver.com/shortroa...jetta-tdi.html

Need I say more?

5-60 11 seconds
0-60 over 10 seconds.

Diesel Engine Noise Does not Equal Speed.

Thank you, just wanted to share

The replies are starting to go downhill and this original post doesn't help the Scion community. Locked
