I hear that this is the same engine thats in Corollas and Echos, is this correct? If so, that means I can use parts from those cars on this engine? Or has there been a design change? Can anyone tell me the years the Corolla and Echo have had the 1NZ-FE? Thank you.

 

I don't think that the Corolla had this engine, although the it is the same engine as the Echo/Vitz RS. The parts would fit, but since it's different under the hood in an xA/xB, some parts won't have anywhere to mount, and some parts just won't fit at all (mainly exhaust).

 

I mainly mean engine parts, more specific the TB, heads, and intake manifold. I wanna know if there are any wrecked up older Toyota's out there with the same engine. That way, if there are I can grab some parts for cheaper than brand new and do a little porting.

 

This is a very popular engine in Japan. They use it in practically every car. So the Japanese support is definately there. Whether or not these parts are accessible from the US is another thing. Unfortunately, toyota hasn't really put that engine into a car interesting enough to the tuner crowd to warrant heavy modding until now. In due time...
