Spy Shots: Scion FR-S Convertible Uncovered!

Looks like the cat is out of the bag. I mean, really anyone paying attention to the news coming out of Toyota probably should’ve seen this coming, but I don’t think Toyota intended us to get a look at the FR-S convertible this early. Too bad Toyota.

From these cell phone shots it looks… Pretty much like a normal FR-S just without the roof. That might not seem like a statement, but do you remember Chrysler Sebring? Or the 350Z roadster? Convertibalizing a car doesn’t always go well. The fact that this looks normal is a actually a complement. Sadly, chopping the roof off typically hurts structural rigidity. Handling is the FR-S’ best asset. Hopefully the convertible won’t sacrifice that for the added cool factor of being a drop top.
