Toyota’s furious Yaris WRC racer set to tear up the snow in Rally Sweden 2018.

We have covered the Toyota GAZOO Racing Yaris WRC before, it’s an insane little car with a big attitude. Now is your chance to watch the furious little bugger live. Well, at least if you live in Sweden. The second stage of the World Rally Championship (WRC) is happening this weekend at the Rally Sweden event.

A founding round of the world championship in 1973, Rally Sweden is the only full winter rally on the calendar. Metal studs inserted into the tires punch through the ice to find grip, while drivers use the snow banks to stay on the road by ‘leaning’ through the corners: provided there is enough snow to do it. Full winter conditions are expected this year, so the racing will be particularly trying.

This is a full weekend event, starting with a Thursday kick-off event, and wrapping things up on Sunday. So, if you want to tune in and watch, or spectate, there is action happening non-stop. Can’t be in Sweden to watch? You can follow Toyota GAZOO Racing’s WRC Facebook page or their YouTube channel for updates, and, hopefully, good live coverage.
