With the 6 speed you will have more top end if you have the HP to go that fast.

In sixth gear at 70mph I am pulling 2800rpm where as with only the five speed I was pulling over 3200rpm's. So yes, the added gear on a stock tc motor will enable the car to reach a higher top end speed. If I am not mistaken the stock tc engine is limited to 6200rpm. If the engine were tuned it can't exceed that rpm. I know of a NA tc that was tuned and was reaching 7800rpm.

Just one more thing to add to the list, a new engine tune.

6 gears or 5 the ecu will still shut you down at 130.

2005 to 2010 all have the same block and tranny bolt pattern whether its auto or manual so I can't see why it would not work.

If you are doing this to do an auto to manual, for the headache and price, just trade the car in for a 2011 manual.

How about a tC1 4speed auto to the 6speed auto?? Would the new tranny possibly handle more then the stated 250ish that the current 4speed gives out at?

I think it would be awesome, 2 extra gears for 1. Better MPG, 2. Better use of power in the twisties... plus the addition of having the tiptronic shifter would be funner/easier in the twisties..
