I do concur...my friends evo has 90k miles, and still EATS my tc....it looked like i slammed the brakes...

And as for fuel economy.....he seems to get mid 20's, with a great deal of mods...so its not a huge drop...

Like everyone else said, you gotta pay to play....and it gets more and more expensive
i would hope his evo eats your tc up. you arent even boosted. and yes mitsubishi lack quality. why else would they offer a 100,000 mile warranty standard.
WHY do people interpret longer warranties like this?! It doesn't even make sense. It's to bring in customers...and then down the road, said customers will talk to their friends about how they haven't had to use said warranty....Or, should something actually go wrong, it's there...

Anyway, yeah it'd be a good deal if the Evo was taken care of. The 4G63T is an old engine that's been improved over the years, so I don't think it'd have too many problems (provided it was taken care of...)...Just make sure everything else is up to spec, just like you'd do with any car

umm its because they know there cars are crap and advertising 100,000 mile warranty will get people to buy them.

Uhh, no.

Unlike you, we actually OWNED one. It was actually pretty reliable, too. The general public discounts them based on what they heard (from the 90s....when they weren't doing so good) and doesn't even give them a try.

It's funny how, everytime they do something with good intentions, people find someway to turn it around.

...Or maybe I have an inherent need to stick up for the underdog....Who knows...

A friend of mine has an 06 MR with a ETS 58 trim turbo kit and he hasn't had any problems with it in 2 years. He gets 23-25mpg on 93 octane and he drives this ____ out of the car.

Mitsubishi has the Lancer, Outlander, Galant, Eclipse, Endeavor, and Evo...and I don't see what their line up has to do with anything.

Yes the Evo is the only hardcore sports car they have, but so what? They aren't Lotus, they're trying to cater to a lot of different people. What are you getting at?

Actually the Evo, Outlander, Lancer, and more or less, the Eclipse have been keeping them afloat...Sales have been up lately....I'm with you on ending this, though

That 100k mile warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Look at Toyota and Honda. They offer 36 and 60k mile warranties standard and their cars almost always hit atleast 180k miles if not 200k when the little stuff is taken care of.

That 100k mile warranty is just like Dodges $2.99 gas for 3 years. Sure that gas guzzler will be cool. But 3 years from now when Gas is hitting 8-10 bucks a gallon you can expect to see some real cheap HEMI's at your local lemon lot. Looks cool but their parts

Blah I'm ranting.

WOW

i am exactly in the same situation as you mang

i've been looking around to buy an EVO 8 MR or 9 MR and those things are are ridiculously expensive. but it sucks to see most of them listed at 30-40K miles. Those owners are smart, they sell it before it hits 50,000miles when the tranny tends to go out.

so currently, i am looking at 350Z's they are quite cheap and reliablie (i've just heard)

and gas wise, it's expensive as *&*^ both ways.

AND STOP SAYING JUST BOOOST YOUR TC!!!!
I HATE THAT!!!! IT STILL CANT TURN AND ITS FWD!!!

mmm 350z is only reliable i believe if u get the 07 or 08 ones with the HR motor. i researched alot on 350z and to many complaints about the 03-04 something with the tire and fender or w/e and 05-06 eating oil to fast?

i was suppose to trade in my 07 tc and get a 350z but i decided to just keep my tc for my daily driver and buy a yellow s2k next year :D

What's up with all this gas nonsense? Ohh ****, going from regular to premium.

Why the hate?

Just do the calculations.

If you travel 12000 miles a year, at 25 mpg, you're using 480 gallons.

Say premium gas is $5.00 and regular is $4.70 (a 30 cent difference, it's usually even less).

At regular gas, you'll spend $2256.00 on gas a year.
At premium gas, you'll spend $2400.00 o gas a year.

You'll save yourself a whopping $144.00 dollars on gas a year, 12 dollars a month, and $2.77 dollars a week in gas.

You'll save 6% in gas in reference to premium, and 6.4% in reference to regular gas a year.

There are credit cards you can apply for to save you 3%-5% on gas every time at the pump. There you go.

Now tell me, is gas in this situation that big of a deal?

The tC doesn't get amazing gas mileage itself, with the right tune the Evo IX gets better MPG than the tC...

The only hit you can't avoid is insurance.

Yeah the whole premium argument is nonsense. My car requires premium do I put 91 in? Hell no 93 all the way!

I find the average American has trouble with this. Why do you think we got to a near-riot state every time gas went up $0.10/gallon?

You know, before we went completely complacent and agreed to pay whatever the hostage demands were...

Like I said before, my friend gets 23-25 and thats after a couple pulls. If he goes a full tank without hitting boost once, he can get 30 with ease.
