Default 2007 Toyota Corolla

article HERE

It's about time for a new Corolla. The current one was already dated when it came out. At least the ugly one we get in the US.
At least that quality was much better than the Civic.
But this new picture from Japan shows a design that looks like a cross between the current Euro Corolla and the all new Yaris.
We, in the US, will get as usual, the uglier trunk added version of this. Just like we do with the Civic.

But it it looks decent, and keeps the quality up. It might be a much better choice than the cheap looking 2006 Civic.

im liking it

It is a shame that we get all the boring watered down crap. The euro civic is sooooo sick.

who knows maybe that corolla hatch might be the replacement for the next gen matrix. highly doubtful but a small possibility if they want to cut cost on development cost.

the headlight and grill design on future toyota sedans will adopt that avalon look which the photo shows. i call it the droopy look. the new 2007 camry has the look as well.

Unfortunately, a big chunk of "development" cost is certification and passing various US tests and specs. In all actuality, as proven through their experience, it often costs less to redevelop existing models, and have them manufactured in the US. The savings only comes from high volume models. . . like pick ups, camry's, corolla's, etc. That's why you see low volume models like the higher end Lexuses and Scions built in Japan; because we are relatively low volume.
