The car that would kill tC/GTI sales. And it's a domestic!?

So what you're saying is that.............Between the Super B and the Minivan, dead stock, you would take the minivan?
hahaha
With modern engineering yes, the minivan performs better than the older cars. But let's also take into account the weight of the power to weight ratio of the older cars, engine engineering (VVT-i...VTEC...), overall weight distribution of the vehicle.............all those factors come into play and if you don't pit similar cars against each other for true test results, there's no point in testing them against one another.
We should put our tC vs. a Viper right? Or maybe a Pinto vs. Prelude?
hahaha

Needless to say, today's autos are designed for cornering and obstructed driving situations. Back in the 60s, cars WERE designed for style and power all in one.
Today's design of autos has gone down hill and they are trying to get back into it with some "retro" attempts.
Dollar for Dollar, no second guess................. 1970 Super B vs. any minivan ever made...................
anyone with any sense of worth would take the Super B hands down.

Yeah, I didn't mean worth as in money in the last one, but more for what a person would value that car vs. a minivan...............my bad on that.
It's definately opinions here, but it's almost impossible to say no to a car that has 400 hp just b/c it may not "perform" as good as something today that has less hp and is designed for grocery getting.

i wouldnt go as far as looks good. i like the story behind it. im not saying they are not fun cars, my friend has a 65 Coronet 500 with a 440 max wedge and its a hell of alot of fun. the biggest down fall to those cars was the POS tires. Put a set of modern tires on it and it would prob do much better…then the suspension…then some fiberglass panels….then…….did you ever watch sports car revolution? They took to old mopars and totally reengineered them to modern specs. Was a really cool series

Nah, never seen it. I could definately agree with that though. Take the old design of the body and engine and mix it with today's engineering. We would have some nasty cars! Talk about putting power on the ground! My dad had a 72 Nova with a 396 and my gf's dad had a 70 Chevelle with a 383 stroker. They loved those cars and they were amazing to drive they said. My dad even used that as the car for his and my mom's wedding! hahaha
I would love to have a 72 built Nova for my wedding car Too bad he got rid of it moving from Italy to here.

I like the Porsche they mentioned on Car and Driver for their 10 car shoot out. Of course, the Lingenfelter Vette was number 1 .............but the Porsche (I can't remember what model) had a Stage 5 turbo setup pushing around 600+ hp and they did a header shot of the car on the dyno.............the headers got WHITE hot and then they let off............amazing!

Wow. If CHEVROLET ever sold this.. bye bye tC.
The radically-sculpted body is made out of carbon fiber and fiberglass
Unless GM knows how to make carbon fiber cheaper than steel, then that would be possible. If not, I expect that carbon fiber bodied car to sell for about $100,000
Either way, a 200hp Chevy 4 banger is big news? Isn't there already a Cobalt and a Saturn ION redline?
I think that concept car will stay a concept.

That's wishful thinking.
the WTCC Ultra Concept you see here is powered by a 2.0-liter common-rail diesel engine that is said to be good for 190 horsepower.
VW Golf TDI sold for $20,000 puts out 100hp, 0-60 11.9 seconds, and got between 37 - 44mpg.
Besides, diesel cost more than regular gas here so I'll pass.
