dodge caliber: is it supposed to do that?
driving home friday afternoon from frostburg, i saw a brand new dodge caliber on I-70, and they had their headlights on because it was kind of overcast and such.
anyway, when i was driving ahead of them, i noticed that when they hit their turn signal to change lanes...the headlight on that side would go out, and then come back on when they turned off the turn signal.
looks like another high quality car built with american pride in mexico!

i see alot of research when into seeing how they can get the most life out of the equipment used in the vehicles.
this cuts down the life of your headlights by how much now? and umm, hid's are outta the question.

Grew up with toyotas. When ever I drive an american car, work what have you, I'm always shocked at how certain things are done. Just odd. Like the headlight highs switch be'n on the floor board in vans. wtf? lol
Actually, all older american cars had a highbeam/dimmer control on the left floorboard (why I dont know). I have noticed that the charger/magnum/300 with DRL's do the same thing when signalling, and it's dumb as hell. If your DRL's are so bright as to wash out the turn signal, I think that it needs to use another bulb (a good example bieng the Chevy Cobalt which simply leaves the front turn signal on, and flashes it with the turn signal). Of course, I dont like DRL's anyway.
Yup, when I started driving ALL dimmer switches were on the left side of the driver's floor, and most starter switches were on the right side, right next to the gas.
(Many also had holes in the front to put the crank in if the starter failed...)
Things change...
