so i have been thinking about getting a small/midsize SUV..

and when i saw pics of the new rav4 is had Hids in it, NOW i see them on the lot and they have normal reflectors in the headlight's no projectors?

i asked the sales guy if it had HID's as a option? he looked at me like i killed 35 children

so whats up with that?> cant even find it on the website?

if it does not have them , it might make me Re-think getting the Rav.

 

Some vehicles can have HIDs without projectors (Prius / Altima, etc). But the thing is that those reflector housings are made for those bulbs. Where as ours are made for halogens.

what im talking about are the pics that are floating around with Projectors in the rav 4, i know alot about Hids, as i have a retro Done in my TC

i just dont understand why the rav's on the lots dont have them

but pics from months ago do?

Maybe because the Rav4 Concept vehicle had HIDs. Did you see production pictures of the Rav4 with HIDs?

 

im not sure if the pics i saw were concept, or production?

kinda blows my mind, Cars like the focus can have hids but not our TC's, or even a 25-27k Rav4?

the prius non hid , and hid headlights reflectors are damned near identical if they aren't in fact identical.....

Doesnt matter that they are Shapped the same, and your prob wrong on that, But diff materials are used, and the bulbs and placment are diff

well I promote for toyota and had 5 prius's with me for 4 weeks straight. 2 had regular 3 had hid. i made the effort to check them pretty closely and examine them.


and the shape is the most important part of an hid housing.......

that and or blinder shield on the bulbs.

the material is only different if the company uses the lowest grade stuff possible on the non hid. then the hid's will need high temp coatings .

 

i almost got a prius, but then i Realized i cared more about the looks of the car then i do about the Mpg it gets

i still want to see one dropped and on 19's lol

would be kinda cool . ha

 

oh yeah they can use scion suspension. and i dunno bout 19's but def some larger wheels. it'd be nice. a black one or salasa red pearl. almost cool. lol
