I actually don't run virus protection on any of my computers.

1 reformat in the past 5 years, and that was on a 6 year old Gateway laptop that I had all throughout college.

Not really sure why you can't keep a computer running nice and fast.

off topic: my battery without the charger plugged into it lasts a good like twenty minutes.. regardless of what the timer on the upper right corner says.. anyone know how to fix this?

I am a certified computer technician and work on macs and pcs on a regular basis, PC is a lot better than mac, a computer is only as good as its user unless its a mac with string tied everywhere on it. If you are dumb enough to try to get thing illegally like music, software and a high percentage of you free ****, you will most definitely catch a virus and then bring your comp to someone like me complaining what a POS it is, when you are the one who mess it up. Macs are severely overpriced and dont support half the useful and amazing software available and they do have a lot of viruses, but the reason a lot of mac users don't get these is b/c they don't have access to the software pc users have, like widespread p2p's for illegally obtaining music and software. If you are going to use a comp for college get PC, just do things the right way like stay way from the free download sites that provide music, ****, software and P2P programs like limewire, stick to college related stuff and you will never have a problem and don't have to worry about converting documents so professors can view it.

 

i download music like its my job. i currently have only 2900 songs which are all "sharred" my brother is a computer freak and has all these programs and blockers on it ive never had a problem with.

 

I know plenty of people who download stuff illegally onto a mac and have never had a problem. I understand what you mean about the P2P stuff on a PC but again - I have never heard of anyone having a problem with a mac. Even those who run programs like boot camp that allow you to run a windows OS on the mac itself.

I'm not saying your wrong but just speaking from my personal experience and observations, although I will be the first to say I am definitely not a computer tech head haha

 

Mac all the way. . My friend bought a pc. . used my mac for about a week. and then for christmas asked for a new mac. . Hes loves his mac. His Pc suckeddd

 

get a cheap dell laptop.

use the saved 1k on car. done.
