So what if it looks like a G35 in some ways? The G35 (the two-door, anyway) is a pretty sweet ride...

If someone told me my car looked like a G35, I'd take it as a compliment!

I heard about that new skyline , but has anybody noticed that they never show pictures of the inside. What about how much it costs. It has to be worth the 350z and the G35 together.

It'll probably be an Infiniti "R35" or "GT35" anyway... Not a Nissan Skyline.

Would you buy a $70k supercar from a Nissan lot?

-THE DON

True True. Not a really Nissan Skyline, but some Infinity crap to fool Americans with.

Lord, where do I start......
1-It will likely be released as the 'Infinity GT-R' probably every where outside Japan/Australia, hence why it looks similar to theG35 etc, family resemblance...none the less this is only 90-95%of the final design And the 'R' designation came from the fact that it had an 'RB' engine. Hence it wont be 'R35', more like 'V35' unless nissan changes tradition.
2-Price is supposed to be between $65-80K. Affordable? Depends on your salary
3- The performance of this car from the factory should approach that of the Nismo Z-tune...ie, 400+hp etc. This is NOT a tuner car. This will be a car at the level the last generation NSX was, an exotic car
4-The Supra (if ever resurected) will not compete with this car (think more along the lines of 350z). That role belongs to Lexus and its LF-A with the 500hp V10. Things will not be quite so familiar this generation around. And I must repeat, the LF-A is NO supra
5-If all new cars looked similar to the older versions, we would still be stuck with cars that resembled the model T and the like...too much retro sucks.
6-Its been said...but just so that it sinks in, G35=JDM Skyline, hence the skyline badged (riced) G35s. The skyline is not a special car, the GT-R is. In japan you would find skylines with 2.0L N/A engines and 4 doors. Nuff said

on a side note, IMHO i think the design actually incorporates a lot of the R34 design from the waist down.

and taek....what maks u think they are over rated? *sigh* thats why opinions are like........ok, let me not.

Default not feeling the look

This new GT-R is a monster performer as are all past GT-R s. But I am not feeling the this rendition. Honestly guys, if this car didn't have the GT-R name on it, most of you would scream ugly. The front is the most hideous part of the car for me. I can get used to the back. R33 and R34 GTR were sweet, but this one didn't hit the spot for me. I am not into retro but IMHO this isn't a step forward in design, probably a step forward in engineering but backwards in design.

those seperated lights are a trademark of sort for the modern skylines...I think the Impala left a bad taste in our heads

huh?!?! Skylines have had round taillights since the R32.

If anything, tell GM (and Nissan, countless other car manufacturers) that ferrari called and asked them back for their taillight design
