2 generations of 4g63t's.

1st gen 4g63t: Production 1989-1999
-6 bolt 4g63t's were first used in 89-91 Galant VR-4's. Then Lancer Evolutions 1-4, 1g Eclipses, Talons and Lasers.

-7 bolt 4g63t were used in 2g Eclipses and Talons

*1st Gen 4g63ts also can be swapped into:
89-94 Mitsubishi Mirage, Mitsubishi Colts, Hyundai Elantra/Sonatas, 94-98 Mitsubishi Galants

2nd generation 4g63t: Production 1995-Current

2nd Generation 4g63t's were equipped into: Lancer Evolution 5-9, Mitsubishi Aerotec (U.S counterpart is the Mitsubishi Outlander)

*2nd gernation 4g63t's will also swap into:
99-2004 Mitsubishi Galants, 95-99 Mitsubishi Mirages, and 2000-current Mitusibishi Outlanders

Difference between 1st gen and 2nd gen 4g63t's are of course on the 1st gens the belt side is on the drivers and the 2nd gens are on the passenger side. Of course blueprint and internal differences distinguish them too. The newest difference though is that the 4g63t in the EVO 9 now has MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Electontric Control).

Oh yes, I drive:

1991 Mitsubishi Galant VR4 #1948/2000
1996 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4L Turbo 5speed
1999 Mitsubishi Galant ES 4 cyl (G/F's car )

My previos vehicles,
1987 Sentra 2 door hatch, bought for $200, (No front bumper, hatched rusted out, cracked widshield, hey but the a/c works) gave it to my bro,
1990 Hyundia Excel, bought it from a guy who's leavin island for $400 (P.S. Never buy a Hyundai, especialy used, this stupid car could not go in reverse, skips 2nd and 4th gears, and the axle shaft poped out on my way to work)
1997 Mitsubishi Mirage (Finaly a real car with no problems to deal with ) sold it to get my 2005 BSP xB (which was promtly wreck 2 months later)
