Default What's wrong with this Hyundai Accent?

Posting for a friend who drives a 2002 Hyundai Accent, manual tranny.

Verbatim: Sometimes it has a delayed start. I'll turn the ignition and it will take several seconds for the car to start. Sometimes it won't start, but the engine doesn't turn over when it does. The car makes no noise. Sometimes the car will only start when it's in 1st gear and sometimes it will only start when it's in neutral. Sometimes it doesn't make a difference what gear it's in. It's a manual transmission. All the electricals are working so I don't it's the alternator or battery.

Tell him to check for a loose connection on the clutch lockout switch (if it has one). It'll be behind the clutch pedal. Tell's the computer the clutch is depressed. If the switch says it isn't depressed it won't turn over.
